Dr. S.A. Sherif is Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and MAE Excellence Term Professor at the University of Florida. He is a Life Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME); a Life Fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society; a Fellow of the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE); an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA); a Past Vice President of Commission B-2 on Refrigerating Equipment of the International Institute of Refrigeration; a Past Head of the ASHRAE Refrigeration Section; a Member of the Board of Directors of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy; and a Founding Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of Programs for the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE). He served as Editor-in-Chief of the ASME Journal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications (2014-2019), Editor-in-Chief of the ASME Journal of Solar Energy Engineering (2020-2028), and Special Editor of the ASME Journal of Fluids Engineering (2026-present). He is currently on the editorial boards of 30 archival journals in thermal/fluid and energy sciences. Dr. Sherif has one book, 24 book chapters, 23 edited bound volumes, 400 refereed papers, 310 technical reports, and two US patents.
